Why pearl balloons for a wedding

The Pearl and Metallic range has a soft lustre that matt balloons do not. In a marquee or a hotel function room it catches candlelight and fairy lights and gives the whole room a more stylish feel. With 22 colours including Ivory, Rose Gold, Silver, Blush-adjacent Peach, Burgundy, Midnight Blue and Sage-like Mint Green, there is almost always a match for the wedding palette.

Print the couple's names and the date, a monogram, or a short line such as "Mr & Mrs" in a contrasting ink. Gold ink on Ivory, white on Midnight Blue and Burgundy ink on Rose Gold are three combinations we are asked for again and again.

Ideas that work

• Table centres: sets of three on a weight in rose gold, silver or iridescent, one printed balloon per set.
• Top table and cake table: a larger bouquet of five or seven in the full palette.
• Send-off: a balloon for each guest to hold in the farewell photo (air-filled on a stick keeps it simple).
• Hen and stag nights: names and a date, or the group's in-joke, printed on balloons in the party's colours.

Other celebrations

• Milestone birthdays: a name and "40", "50" or "60" printed on a balloon beats a generic foil number, and the set of thirteen in our gallery shows how far one print goes.
• Christenings and naming days: baby's name and date on pearl white, pale blue or peach.
• Retirements, graduations and engagements: anything with a name and a date is a good candidate.
• Memorials: printed balloons for a remembrance display indoors. We do not recommend outdoor releases.

How much and how many

The Pearl range is £59 for a pack of 10 printed balloons, and we can print more on request. A typical wedding of ten tables with one printed balloon per table needs one pack, plus plain pearl balloons to fill out the sets, which we can supply too. Add helium and ribbon to the order, or ask about Luce Balloons, our sister business, to decorate the venue for you.

Latex balloons on helium float for around 8 to 12 hours, so plan to fill them on the morning of the day. Air-filled balloons last for weeks.
