Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what we do with it.
Last updated 14 October 2026. This policy is a draft prepared for review before publication.
Who we are
The Balloon Printers, 21 Railway Street, Lisburn, County Antrim BT28 1XG. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about your data at adela@theballoonprinters.uk or 028 9267 3718.
What we collect
- Enquiries and orders: your name, business name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the details of your order, and any artwork you send us.
- Payments: handled by our payment provider or bank; we do not store card details.
- Website: this site uses no tracking cookies and no advertising pixels. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security. If we add analytics in future we will update this policy.
- Social media: if you message us on Facebook, Meta's own privacy policy applies to that platform.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, prepare proofs, fulfil and deliver your order, take payment, keep accounting records, and deal with any problem afterwards. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in running the business, and legal obligation for accounting records. We only send marketing emails if you have asked for them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the people needed to deliver your order: our delivery carriers, our payment provider, our accountant and our IT or hosting providers. We never sell personal data. Artwork is kept so that we can reprint for you; tell us if you would like it deleted.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for six years to meet accounting rules. Enquiries that do not become orders are deleted within twelve months. Artwork is kept while you remain a customer.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable format. Email adela@theballoonprinters.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new date.
